CIPA Has to be More Proactive, Says Head of Saint Lucia CIU

“The truth is I don’t think CIPA has been very proactive,” says Nestor Alfred, speaking in the context of OECD-blacklists during the Investment Immigration Summit in Hong Kong.

“We have not been in the forefront and have not been making statements” he continues, and suggests that, as the technocrats of the industry, CIPA needs to be in the vanguard.

Speaking about his own CIP, Alfred conceded that processing times had been excessive, but pointed out that, following a series of “frank discussions with law enforcement”, turnaround times had been reduced to an average of 80 days.
